It used to display the document with page breaks, and it would stop scrolling at the edge of the document, but now there are no page breaks, and it will left/right scroll forever. Is there any way to change it back?

MS Word 2003? That's a Windows application not OS X. Wrong forum. Or do you mean Word 2004, 2008?

In any event sounds like the document is corrupt or you inadvertently made changes and removed the page breaks. What "view" do you have set for the main page? You should be using "Print View".

Regards.
