I've deleted a (standard, non-smart) mailbox in error (yes, I know, please don't go there) - can I recover it or its contents?

If so how, because I can't see it in Trash or anywhere else.

Thanks!

Do you have a Time Machine backup ?
If you have, you can restore mail easily from there.

Hi, yes I do, but it is something I haven't set up or looked at - just plugged in an external drive and let it run. So, I have no idea if my mail has ever been backed up.

How do I go look for it in Time Machine?

OK, did the obvious and clicked Help - looks like my mail has never been backed up since I only see 'today' in Time Machine.

I think I had better go away and look at how Time Machine really works and how to set it up - any pointers from you guys??

So now it's obvious I haven't explicitly archived a mailbox - is there any way other than by Time Machine to retrieve/recover/restore a deleted mailbox

All sorted now - the main problem was....... me! RTFM as we used to say.

I'm obviously still getting used to the Mac and its ways!
