Better Macbook? 2.4 GHZ w/ 2GB RAM or 2.1 GHZ w/ 4GB RAM?

Hey everyone. I have never owned a Macbook, and am choosing between a 2.4 GHZ w/ 2GB RAM or 2.1 GHZ w/ 4GB RAM. I am buying refurbished, and they are the same price, but which one am I getting a better deal on? Any opinions? I really appreciate it.

Also, the 2.1 GHZ comes with VM Ware Fusion and Windows XP.

Mac Specs: 2000 Power Mac G4 "Sawtooth" w/ Mac OS X 10.4; 500mHz
2.1gHz with 4GB RAM should be plenty of power.

I'd go with the faster processor... upgrading ram is easy... processor.. is impossible.

In this case, I'll go with 2.4, but I would usually say 2.1 with 4GB. Processor difference is minimal at best. But RAM is so cheap its wirth the extra $30 cost to just get the better CPU.

XP is outdated. Wait for OSX to support Win7 via bootcamp before you bother with Windows on Mac...should be by year's end...

Be that as it may, we aren't trying to be. We don't get anything out of it.

To the OP, if you have the extra cash get the MB with the higher CPU specs. Better resale value when you do try to sale it.

Memory is so cheap, and is easily installed yourself. There is many guides on the net for this alone.

We're talking about two systems at the same price point here, not $200-400 difference.

At the same price point, always go for the higher processor first, best video card second.

The 2.1 only becomes worth the same money "if" you need Windows and "only" if you will be receiving the disks for both VMWare and Windows with the machine. If the seller is not giving you with the disks for both of them, they are worthless as far as sale price goes.

Thanks for all the responses. The reason I'm getting it actually is because I am deploying and need something to watch movies on, take some online classes with, and chat home with the wife.

The seller is including the disks for VMWare and Windows btw bobtomay.

You're right, I wouldn't. I prefer making things to selling them
