Is surfing from a guest account safer than from a home account?

I read that everything gets erased after logging off a guest account. Does this mean that no virus or malware infection is possible no matter how evil the web site?

You shouldnt be worried about virus and malware as you are using a Mac!

Using your home account will be fine

You can never be too sure with viruses and such.

Download iAnti virus its free and i use it once a fortnight...... Not saying i go to any vicious sites. Just like to be sure.

Mind you it is very CPU intensive, so i exit the program once the scan is done.

Cheers

My dad told me the same thing for my pc. Cept it's a pc, so I guess that tip doesn't really work or OSX.

My question is really whether there is any difference at all in vulnerability between surfing home and guest accounts?

Since there has never been and are still at this time zero, none, nada, nought, zip, zilcho viruses in the wild that can run in OS X, there is no difference in surfing the web using your home or guest accounts as it relates to viruses.

edit:
And you can quote me on that, at least until such time as there is a virus that can run in OS X.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
