Hi Peeps,

When I first setup my Mac I created an account which I guess has all my Mac hardware & software registered, chris.jay@mac.com. I just purchased the Leopard to Snow Leopard upgreade and a email was send to chris.jay@mac.com but I don't know how to log in to it ... please help.

Regards, Chris.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you should be able to just add a new account to Apple Mail, using your email address. It should be very straightforward.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

When did you set up that @mac.com account? Apple has not given those out for a while...the service was replaced over a year ago with MobileMe, which is @me.com

The only way to keep the @mac.com account was if you signed up before MobileMe and have been paying the $100 or so every year.

go to https://auth.apple.com/authenticate?...ationUrl=/mail
put in email address and click lost password
if you have a current account it will work

The iTunes store required me to have a .mac account so I signed up so i could purchase iPhoe apps. I preordered snow leopard aswell and I don't know how to get the confirmation email. My iTunes recipts are send to my hotmail account somehow though. I'm confused.

However, if you go to the apple online store you can login with your .mac account or order number to check the status of your order.
