Hi all,
I'm a little lost, what is the world is the @mac.com I signed up for when I first set up my computer? Is it email? or is it just for the ichat program that is built in. i treid to go to MobileMe and it keeps going to mobileme which i'm pretty sure I don't have since you need to pay for it.

thanks,
Shawn

MobileMe/.Mac is not only e-mail, it also gives you about 20Gb of on-line storage and the ability to sync e-mail, bookmarks and other things between multiple Macs (f you own multiple-Macs) and your iPhone. It also allows you to host web sites, upload and share pictures etc.

I like it because it allows me to keep my bookmarks and keychains synced between my desktop G5 and my iBook G4. I travel a lot so I rarely have issues logging onto sites that require passwords etc (like M-F).

one of my favorite things is that if you have a mobile me account and an apple router you can see all of your Mac's where ever you are and either drop and drag files or screen share with the click of a button. all my macs are always available in Finder under shared when i am on the road as well as the external HDD connect to the apple router.

also @Mac.com is sadly no longer an option when you get a mobile me account. you have to use @Me.com. if you had a .Mac account before they launched Mobile Me then you can use either @mac or @me. i prefer @mac and glad i have been a member for a long time and can keep that
