Keyboard shortcut to shutdown?

I am running OS X 103. Is there a quick way to shut down just using the keyboard?

You can create an AppleScript or a shell script and assign it to a function key.

It's Command, Option, Control, plus Eject. To restart, Command, Control, plus Eject.

That one just shuts down immediately without bringing up a dialogue right?

iWhat at your service! I learned it a school. Our college makes students take a class that is like Macintosh 101; I thought, it was a waste of time, because I had owned a mac for almost a year. So I thought that I knew everything already, but the class help me be a lot more proficent on the mac. My proffessor made us learn almost all of the important shortcuts and all of the key symbols.

What if you don't have a keyboard with an eject key?

Try F12 for eject.

Well, I'll be danged twice in one day...this is the second handy thing I've learned today. I think we need a thread of hidden/little known short cuts (but that's another topic for another time). thanks man

*Edit: little did i know there's a keyboard short cut thread under operating system thread. Hmm...but this was still a good little note.
