when you save pics

Hey just a little wonder of mine, I was trying to save a picture off the internets from safari went to save image as and saved it in documents, but what do you guys mostly do, or do yall save it in iPhoto library, and if you do save it in iPhoto library can you use that image like in an avatar or something for some programs or be able to select it?

You can, I think, save it to the iPhoto library and still do all the things you mentioned. I find it easier and more convenient to just save it as a file in, say, Pictures.

I save them to my Pictures folder.
