Can't find the # key

Hi there,

I have a bit of a silly question which I am sure has a simple answer and I'm sure the answer is staring me in the face but I can't see it.

I use the # key a lot (mainly for comments and and coding) but I can't seem to find it on my mac keyboard and have had to to copy and paste the symbol to use it. Does anyone know a set of key presses that will write a # to a text editor?

On the american keyboards (at least my iMacs) it's Shift+3. Is it different on the England version?

Yeah thanks for the help. The icon above on my 3 key is a £ so but ALT + 3 does the trick nicely thanks again!
