how to turn off or change settings for backlit keyboard on bootcamp partition

got a mbp. with windows xp pro installed on boot camp partition. whenever i on the xp pro, backlit keyboard always comes on. how to i change the settings or off it? i hardly every need the backlight

and to add on, after im done with windows and reboot back to mac, the backlight remains on. despite my settings being on 'do not turn on automatically'

if you can't lower the brightness pressing the small backlit button, try pressing the big one first (+) and then the small one (-) all the way down.

I noticed that the backlit is turn off but not 100%.
