I like using iphoto, it's very convenient. I just plug my camera in and voila. However, sometimes I need to upload pictures for example to autiva for ebay, I have no idea how to do it.

It's easy to upload pictures to flickr, facebook , etc since there is a button already built in with iphoto.

Can someone show me how to upload photos to sites without exporting them onto desktop or what not? Thanks!

Since each site handles uploads differently, you would need a plugin for each. In your case, it might just be easier to copy and paste the pictures to the Desktop (or elsewhere) and upload it manually. You could also look in the iPhoto library itself (~/Pictures/iPhoto Library - right click and click "Show Package Contents") if you don't want to copy and paste.

I keep a "New Pictures" folder on the desktop just for things like this. No need to Export or copy and paste, just highlite the photos you want in iPhoto and drag to the folder. After you are done with your upload to Autiva or what ever you want to do with your photos outside of iPhoto, you can select them all and drag to the trash, they will still be in iPhoto just as they were. By going into the iPhoto library itself (~/Pictures/iPhoto Library - right click and click "Show Package Contents") you run the risk of really messing up your iPhoto files.

Another choice is to use a service like Skitch.com

I hope that I didn't imply that you edit these files. I only meant that you go in this directory and copy the required pictures elsewhere.

I didn't mean to step on your toes, I just think that anyone that is new to iPhoto and may not understand why the files are hidden should be aware of the problems that could arise from doing anything in those folders. It's too easy for someone to think they can take a shortcut next time they want to do something outside of iPhoto.
