File extensions on Downloaded games

New to macs and just downloaded Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis onto my macbook. The file is a unix executable file and I know if I change the extension I must somehow be able to play the game but I dont know what extension to use. Any help on how to play this game would be great.

"UNIX executable"? what does that mean?

what is the extension on the file now?

normally, you can't just change an extention to make a file into something else.

Exactly.

If you want to run the game under the Mac OS, then you will simply need to have a version of the game designed for the Mac OS.
