Anyone use US Apple Care while in another country?

Have a Thinkpad X60 with extended, international warranty that I have had to use once while overseas. This was a third-party provider and not the best experience.

Has anyone used their Apple Care while overseas? How was the experience? Is Apple's customer support similar all over the world?

Is it possible to extend the Apple Care warranty beyond the 3 years? IBM offers users to purchase additional extended warranty once the original expires.

Apple service is outstanding world wide. There have been posts on this forum from folks who purchased their machine while in the US and had it serviced by Apple in Europe and as far away as Australia. As for extending Apple Care beyond the two years (three including original warranty) it isn't offered by Apple. However, purchasing a Mac from say, Best Buy, it is possible to extend the service contract further. A third party retailer may have their own plan in addition to or in lieu of Apple Care. You'll need to check on that for yourself.

Regards.
