    dvd-r?
    do macs only read dvd-r's?
i tried backing up some things from my pc on dvd+r's but when i put it in the mac, it doesnt read it.
im guessing this is normal and i just need some -r's

Yes it should read dvd+r if you have…
    1. OS 10.3.? (Don't know if early 10.3 release read dvd+r)
    2. Capable reader
    3. dvd was burned on pc as UDF (I believe this is correct)
I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow.

thats right, but it would only be a udf if its a movie, so if its a data disc, it should work, unless as stated above, you're using too early a version of panther, or not using a capable reader.

click about this mac and see what version of panther youre running. if youre trying to burn, you should be using toast, add data, then click record, and itll ask you to insert the disc, then insert it.

o, ok. on pc youd use nero, as far as what format, I think theres a part that just says data, and then theres an option to make it mac and pc compatible.
