I hear people all the time say "a mac is just a PC that runs OSX" so can I just install OSX on my windows machine?

Yes it is true that a Mac is just a PC that runs OSX, but the components are specific to Apple, and are not just some parts you can buy from Best Buy or another store.

However, You are not allowed to install OSX on your Windows Machine. The EULA in Leopard states that it is illegal to do so.

Also talking about Hackintosh's here is not allowed per the forum rules.

just remember, "PC" stands for "personal computer" it does not inherently signify any operating system. if an OS has been tweeked to use, at the very least, the processing chipset that a given machine uses, it should be able to run on that machine.

how the term "PC" got so intertwined with windows (which is not even a personal computer manufacturer) seems to be a mystery.

also that OS X is designed around a very specific subset of hardware.
