power book g4 using a Dell ultrsharp monitor

I have a g4 power book and after reading a lot on mac forums about using the Dell monitor with the powerbook and after verifying compatibility with Dell, I purchased the new monitor.last week. I want to use it instead of the lap top when home but after some random amount of time time the Dell blacks out for about 3 seconds and then comes back on by itself with the screen as it was before .Anyone else have a similar problem or any thoughts about this Thanks

Have you plugged the monitor into a different system? I would try this to make sure the monitor works fine.

When the monitor blacks out, does the power button turn orange, or stay green?
