I just ordered an iBook from the Apple store and my UPS tracking says it's shipping from Shanghi, China.

Is this for real? How long will that take?

I'm anxious 'cause this is my first Apple.

Yeah, just about all of the laptops made in the world come from two companies located in China. I order a laptop from HP and it was the same deal-- direct from Shanghi via Fedex, took about 3 days to make it to Northern California. Occasionally they get hung up in customs, but other than that it's usually pretty fast.

Yeah, it took mine about a week to get here. It was stuck in customs in Taiwan. It went from Taiwan to Alaska to Indiana to Tennessee to Oregon. HAHA, what a travel!

My iPod went from Shanghai -> Anchorage -> Indianapolis -> Tennessee -> Phoenix -> Tucson.

I think I'm going to buy my new PowerBook in town and save myself the wait.
