Why are you not just going from the line out on the iPod to the stereo? Not trying to be a smart you know what - just trying to understand.

Cool. Could you just get the files from your iPod onto the computer and then record it? Maybe using something like Senuti?

But, if this music is on your iPod, didn't it already come from iTunes on your Mac?
And you could simply play it in iTunes through your Mac's output with no need for the iPod at all.
Or are you really trying to get us to tell you how to hack your iPod to spread your music around illegally?
I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
