Hey

The shortcut keys on my macbooks keyboard example f12/+volume and f11/- volume. When I click my + volume button, the dashboard pops up. When I press f4/dashboard button it just makes the noise for no function. Can someone tell me how to get my keys working properly thank you.

Try holding down the function (fn) key while pressing the appropriate keys...

You shouldn't have to do that though.

Go under Preferences >> Keyboard and Mouse

Look and see if the box is checked where it says "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys"

When I check the box, F11 shows the desktop, and F12 shows my dashboard. Unchecked, F11 is Volume - and F12 is Volume +

Hope this helps

**NOTE**

If you wish to use F11 and F12 as shortcut keys and not volume keys, press fn and then F11 or F12 to change the volume. (as Jaygray stated)
