I purchased a new MacBook Pro with OS 10.5.5. I plan to use BootCamp to partition my internal hard drive and install Windows and VM Fusion to be able to access PC files on my IBM ThinkPad I use at work.

My question: I am planning to purchase an external hard drive, probably from Western Digital. Can use BootCamp to partition it as well to back up files for my PC internal drive?

Thanks for any help!

Windows can only be installed on an internal drive, period. It's not a limitation of Boot Camp, it's a limitation of Windows (all versions). The same could be said for a standard PC.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
