Problems with my system preferences

I've just downloaded a new screen saver that I'd like to use (I've already installed it). But when I click the System Preferences icon on the rocketdock, the System Preferences window doesnt come up?

Try cmd+tab and see if system preferences is open. If it is, highlight it while holding down cmd and then press Q to quit. Then try reopening it.
