Hey guys,

I am loving my mac, it is awesome. One problem I am having now is, I feel like it is running pretty slow when it comes to opening programs or clicking on an icon on the dock to switch to that space where the application is assigned. This recently started happening within the past week or two. Is this porn induced? Can I have a virus? I downloaded onyx and checked all the options and cleaned everything. Still is going slow and getting pin wheel when I open an application.

Have you tried restarting? Maybe you just have too many programs open at once, I'm not really sure, but I do know that you don't have a virus, there aren't any viruses in the wild for Mac OS X so you needn't worry about that.

Use the Rep System!!

It's not a virus, and if you were serious about the pr0n, then if your a total addict with thousands of photos, which I hope you're not, then that might be the case. You may also have lots of programs open at once, which will do that. In my opinion, you should check how much RAM you're using, as that could be the source of your problems. To check your RAM, go into Spotlight at the top right and search for Activity Monitor. This is what it should look like.

Hope this helps!

The thing about Macs is that the OS keeps a lot of programs open in the background, even if your not using them. Some of the programs that are open in the background, depending on their nature, will/will not eat up a lot of RAM. What I try and do is set my Mac to automatically close out of programs when I press the 'X' in the window. Don't remember how to do it but that may help. Have you been regularly updating your computer? I used to have the same problem until Apple released a Mac OS X update and then the slowness went away for good. Try these things and see if they work.
