I know there's Locknote for Windows but I was wondering if there is anything similar for a Mac?

Just keep your documents in an encrypted disk image. Same effect.

Mac OS X: How to create a password-protected (encrypted) disk image

i followed the instructions for that but still doesn't require me to put in a password to open files am i doing something wrong?
