Slow Video Playback in Browser?

Mac Specs: Black Macbook 2.4GHz

I've noticed some videos just are REAL choppy... using FireFox 3, Quicktime, and I have Flip4Mac installed, but don't know if that makes a difference. Mostly MPEG videos from what I've observed. Any ideas on what could be causing this, or how I can improve the performance of it?
