I got a new iMac yesterday and I've noticed that there are no black arrows below the icons of applications on my dock (that reveal which apps are open). I remember them from my friend's iMac... but I couldn't find an option to turn this option on under system prefs, does anyone know how I can do this?

I think that depends on a few things... It sounds that your friend may have an addon-pref pack added or they might have an older (older than leopard 10.5) version of mac (I think I recall that with OS9?). But depending on how you've set your dock it will show a 'light' underneath or beside apps that are open.

If your looking to get more options and customization into your dock, try this program out. I use it and it's pretty awesome.

Black arrows were in Tiger (10.4). In Leopard (10.5) they're blue dots.
