Mac E-mail

I have a question I have gmail and the first time every single email from my gmail was on my computer but after i reformat my computer i did the same thing but only new mail were imported. How do I get all the emails back onto the mac mail. I'm sorry I don't know how to put it into words very well. But please help

hmm... well it depends. I think I understand your question: The mail app is working fine, you are able to receive new mail fine, but you can't get the older mail that is still on your gmail account? Ok well, my question:

is your older mail archived? If it is you will have to un-archive all of the mail that you have.

2) You might be making it harder than it is. If your mail is not archived, then the next time you go to check your mail, just click the "Get Mail" at the top.

Are you using POP or IMAP?

I'm using POP. How do I un-archive the mail I have. Thanks for responding.
