Okay Trash has me very confused. Let's say I've emptied it. Then I drag 6 pictures into it. Open it, yep, there's 6 pictures. Choose empty trash securely, and sure enough, it empties 13 items???

I dragged Messenger:Mac out of my applications folder into the trash. Opene the trash can, that's the only item in there. Chose empty, and 2,279 items begin deleting.

Can anyone help me understand this? LOL

Have you "Tinkled" today? 24" Aluminum iMac, 3.06 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HD ; 80 GB iPod

apps in os x are really packages rather than a single file

inside an app are all sorts of resources, from icons to code and help files

so by deleting messenger you are really deleting a folder with all sorts of stuff inside

So is this why it doesn't tell you how many things you are about to delete when you empty the trash? Well when compared to Classic when it told us there.
