I just purchased one on eBay for $12 new! I can't believe they stopped putting them in the MBP kits.

If you got one of the first Macbooks, then yes, you got the remote with it. If you go buy one now, you'll have to buy the remote seperate.

Plus if you order a MacBook now and wish to buy the remote with it online at the Apple store, the MacBook then becomes a BTO computer since they will package the remote in the box with the computer delaying it a few days.

That sucks...mine came with my MBP. I don't ever use it though...I can't really find a good use for it. If my computer is on, I'm usually right at it...

For the first eight months that I owned my MBP, I never used the remote, it stayed wrapped up in the box. I then discovered Front Row when I bought my iMac and loved how nice the remote worked with it. I then got out the remote that came with my MBP and have been using it ever since. I wish my Mac Pro came with a remote and IR sensor though I can add one which I will.
