Mail question

I set up my mail program with my gmail account, but it's been acting weird lately. Whenever I create a note in the mail program I always get 2 copies of the same note and 2 "new note" copies I never created. I delete the copies and the other notes I've never seen before and they keep coming back. Is this normal? I sync my gmail via imap with a MS Outlook on a Vista machine and my MBP mail client so I don't know what's going on

I am also getting something very irritating. Sometimes I click to read a message from a recipient and the message is from a different recipient that I have already read. Very frustrating and then I end up logging onto the originating mail server to view the correct email.

So it seems a few bugs exist in mail.... Sorry I couldnt help though.
