I opened a file (created with texedit) and somehow it opened with Pages. I haven't paid or hit the 'free trial' but the program opened and it reads and writes the files.

When I try to open Pages directly it takes me to the Try, Pay or go away screen, but if I simply open a rtfd file, it opens just fine (and lets me create new files.

How did this happen? Any Ideas?

I would imagine you're still in the trial period. I believe it's 30 days from the first time you open it.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Yep, and you can buy it and receive an activation code directly from Apple if you want to keep it or it will just disapear, which is what I was told. I just ordered the application when I ordered my Mac and installed it myself.

I believe once the trial period ends you can view files in it anyway, you just can't create files
