I have a MBP with a matte screen. I was just curious if it was okay to use computer monitor wet wipes on this type of screen. I have only used then for glossy screens and am not sure if that is okay...I'm assuming it is?

Loving my MBP more and more everyday

At stores like Best Buy you can buy wipes specifically designed to clean LCD screens, they work well but here's the biggest tip I can give anyone, TURN OFF THE SCREEN ! and if it's a notebook shut it down and power off, clean let dry then fire it back up and be gentle, the LCD can't take as much scrubing as the old CRTs can. !

This is a multiplatform home !

instead of buying those wipes you can do it the cheap way, warm water on a lint free cloth. that does wonders.

I use the wipes that opticians dish out for spectacles - another item that doesn't take to abuse.

What I DO do first is gently with a lint free soft cloth, flick off the dust that static has attracted - then you can clean it properly - being OFF is good advice.

I must admit that just getting the dust off is usually good enough - the cloth I use came from my Acer laptop and is just the job.

If it's only dust, I use a very, very soft paint brush to gently whisk it off.
