Is there a way to remove the timestamp that appears when you print a document from the web which shows up at the bottom of the page?

I'm putting together a teaching portfolio for school and it looks very unprofessional.

assuming you are printing from safari or Firefox

In the print dialogue box there is a button called Copies and pages

On this menu there will be an option for Safari or Firefox

In Safari you can uncheck Headers and footers - Firefox gives you even more options
