Hi, im new to macs and bought quicktime pro. Im just wondering if i can encode dvd's with it. Like make a dvd into a quicktime file? Im not doing anything illegal as they are my creation dvd's. I make movies (student). I just want to keep copies of my work on my harddrive.

No QTPro does not encode DVDs.

Go to the Audio Video Forum and check out the copying DVD tutorial for instructions to rip DVD's to your hard drive
