Parallels, sound on external speakers?

Can anyone tell me how to get sound when I'm using parallels to play on my external speakers? When I'm in mac side sound goes thru the external speakers, but when I'm in parallels, sound only plays on the speakers on internal speakers of my monitor. I have a Mac mini and use the external speakers (not the ones on the monitor). Thanks in advance “invincible ignorance” is an example of ignorance that can not be removed by any amount of evidence.
