Buy now or later?

I was going to buy a new Macbook this week, but after hearing the rumors of it being redesigned I'm not sure what to do. I'm so tired of waiting, but I'm afraid I might be kicking myself if I don't wait.

Now I will admit that I usually don't pay attention to mac updates, do they usually have massive upgrades or is it going to be minute? If it's mainly just going to be cosmetics I can live with it, but a massive hardware upgrade would leave me disappointed.

Reasons I've considered getting one right now--
1.)I could really use a laptop right about now for my school work and presentations
2.)New hardware usually comes with a risk of it having new problems, right?
3.)I know the Macbook has what I need right now

Are there any reasons that I should wait and see? If I buy a Macbook now can I at least resell it for a fair price (if the new one has a feature I like)?

For advice on whether or not to buy now or wait, please refer to any of the thousands of threads asking the same durned question, which all get pretty much the same answer.

Mac Specs: Ibook G3 - You'll be missed.
I say get it now, IF there is a re-design / AL MacBook coming, it'll be announced in about 2 months (June 9th - 13th) at WWDC 08. I doubt they'd be shipping that day anyways, I'd say anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months or so before they start shipping from the time they are announced. That's just my guess.

you can always sell later, Macs tend to hold their value well, and if you do buy now you'll still get most of your money back if the new one is released in the next month or so.

Sorry if this has been asked a billion times. I honestly only skimmed the first page and didn't bother searching.

Sorry if I seem cranky... I'm wrapping up a double-shift/all-nighter.

Anywho... fact is, no one knows what's coming, when it's coming, or in what form it's coming. There are only three possible answers to your questions, and they can all be summarized as follows:

"Yes."
"No."
"Maybe."

I hope that clarifies things.

Mmmmkay, I guess I'll just go get it tomorrow.

Wont be that much of a gamble, at least I know I'll be getting a great mac out of it.

Buyer's remorse is just too common in this industry. I bought my MBP 7 days before they announced the shipping date for Leopard, and thus missed out on getting Leopard free. But I needed a functional system, NOW.

I can live without the multi-touch mousepad. And I can live without a larger hard drive, for now. When the time is right (as in, when the SSDD drives are available at similar capacities & pricing as regular drives), I'll upgrade the drive.

If I could change anything on my MBP, it would be to have the keyboard be a darker grey or black. I like everything else about it.
