hi im new to the world of mac (like everyone else it seems) and i was looking on the apple website under the downloads section just wondering which FREE downloads are good?? thanks in advance ( if anyone actually reads this)

You might want to check out the desktop widgets, there are some fun toys/tools in there. Also don't underestimate the usefulness of web clipping in Safari - use the scissors icon in Safari to grab a portion of a web site's screen real estate and save as a widget.

Check out MacUpdate which contains free, demo, and shareware Mac software. There is an option to sort according to license. Some users review and rate the product.
