Hello - I'm living in Germany right now - about to head back to England (I'm American). I want to buy a MacBook to replace my second Toshiba Laptop that has crapped out on me while overseas. I have been told twice that its due to the power cable being constantly plugged into an adapter while I'm overseas apparenlty it causes the machine to heat up a bit.

So my concern is - will I have this ussue with a MacBook ? anybody on here have any experience with this. I've called apple in the Uk and they have told me that I can buy a power supply when I am in the Uk. Are they basically saying that I can buy the power cable in the country I'm in and plug it into my machine and the socket and I'm good to go ? Can one of the experts shed some light on this.

In all honesty I'm not familiar with MacBooks so I'm soaking up everything here I can read before I make my purchase.

Danke !!

I'm no expert, but - I have an american power brick for my iBook and I switch and change the attachments between the US plug and the UK plug (the bit that slides off) all the time and I've never had a problem with it, it's lasted around four years doing this, without any noticeable problems.

MBP 15" (Feb08) for my work, iMac G5 (ALS) for the lady, iBook G4 (RevB) for general use, Mac Mini G4 (RevA) under the TV.
