Spanning hack with the iMac

I want to span my monitor on my g5 iMac to a CRT that I have. i know you can mirror it, and I can do so, but I read about a hack that lets me span the monitors. I really need to do this as the color on iMac is throwing my images color off at the lab. I need my old monitor.

Any help on the hack? Where can i find it and how do i use it?

Try this site: http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html. This works on older - G4 - iMacs but I don't know if it works on the G5. the author has a contact on the page so maybe you can e-mail him.
