My alternatives to the provided software is VirtualBox (and can get win7 free), and get office free from my school, and have iWork anyway. Logic Pro and Final Cut aren't necessary...

Just tried it. All I get is a cursor, and a loud noise coming from the CD spinning in the drive. That's it. And then it stops spinning after a little while :/

I wouldn't even consider a 5400RPM drive ever again. 7200s are just as quiet and don't pose any battery life reductions (common myth), and make the computer faster all-around. I'm very satisfied.
