If I don't have the parts in my workshop, I'd have to travel 50k. My nearest Apple Shop is over 200k. The nearest "authorised apple agent" I wouldn't give the time of day.

Nevermind. I think the thing is stuffed. It won't even load the OS install disk. Same symptom; apple splash screen powers up and then the little spinning wheel does its thing as long as you like.
