Disk Utility: repair permissions question

I just bought a very beat up 2.4GHz MacBook Pro 4GB RAM (mid 2010) for $100. The screen is cracked (glass only), the trackpad wonky, missing 6 keys and looks like it was used for batting practice...

1GB RAM chips in Quicksilver 2002?

I have a 2 x 1 GHz Quicksilver 2002 and the three RAM slots each have a 512MB RAM chip. The total 1.5 GB RAM is what "they tell you" is the max.

I just noticed a 1 GB chip on eBay: 1GB 168pin...

I went to the seller's house to buy the 2.3 GHz G5 and it wouldn't start. To me it's really no surprise as the PowerMac G5's have seemed, from day 1, to be way overcomplicated and unfinished...

I'm waiting for a power supply for my sick 2.0 DP (PCI-X 2) G5 and I might buy a Dual Core (2.3) G5 with 14GB RAM for $150 tomorrow. I'm using it mostly to prepare artwork to be made into prints...
