Nameless folder gets created in the root (/) directory

If I delete it or rename it, it appears again. It contains:

marulo:Cookies souto$ pwd
/*/Users/souto/Library/Cookies

As you can see, the folder containing Users has no name.

Hi,

I've had the following problem, which I'll simplify here. I had:

dirA/fileX.txt
dirB/fileX.txt

and copied fileX from dirB into dirA, thus replacing (erasing) the fileX that was there....
