Can't get make/gcc

I mainly use Linux, but I need to port one of my applications to OS X. I have Xcode, which I understand means that I should have make, gcc, g++, etc, yet I don't. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm that's odd. In the past the red x did "hide" the window and I could reopen it back to the way it was. And this still works for all my other applications.
