Not calibrating the battery is a common mistake. How many users can say they use their batteries for twice as much cycles as Apple recommends? And you do realize my last post in this thread was 1&1/2...

Hi,

so here's the issue. I've got a 2007 17" santa rosa mac. About one year and a half ago the original battery (637 cycles) died, and I bough a new one, which died last week with only 220 cycles....

670 cycles, 74% health, now, but battery won't last 15 minutes. Checked it at apple and is drained out. had to order new one :(

If it is a shadow that expands from top and goes down, all screen, half screen etc, than that is caused by a kernel panic that happened while booting.

Yes, compared to what I have and know about the batteries, it is bad. I have thirty more cycles, on a 5 months MBP, and I am currently 97% healthy.

You should try to recalibrate it.
