Macbook Pro Problem!!

Problem:

I noticed once I used my friend's MB pro that mine makes an odd noise, all the time. Imagine a fan with a small brush attatched to one of the blades and that little brush keeps hitting...

How much faster really are the Intel Core 2 Duos vs. the current ones? Would it be worth selling my current laptop (MB Pro 1.83ghz) and using the money to get a new-new one....

Not true, you can buy a refurbished 1.83 GHZ macbook pro off the apple website. They are $1549, and mine is in the mail. My theory is that, if I can get the same warranty on a refurbished copmuter...

Since you get the same warranty on a refurbished as you do on a new computer, why not just go with the refurb? And you get a free nano with a refurb, just like with a new computer.

But a new one (2GHz) is $2000, with the student discount it'll be $1800. The one I'm looking at is $1549. [Previous generation model] I don't think the .13GHz speed increase is worth the $450...
