There is no restore point in Mac. Don't compare Mac with Windows. Its only possible by the means of backup using Time Machine. Better luck next time.

You are going in the right direction. Firstly install Snow Leopard, and then upgrade it to Lion through Apple store. This is the best way to get clean install of Lion.
