File search and replace

I use a simple program on Windows for searching folders of files, looking for specific content. Basically, I'm a developer and I use it to search through code. I may, sometimes, use the replace...

Portable Apps

On my Windows laptop I had a Dropbox folder containing a number of portable apps.

Can you do the same with OS X and, if so, how?

However, I am looking for something that works on both Windows and Mac. I don't need anything too fancy - no IDE - just a syntax highlighting...

New Mac Owner - advice requested!

Hi,

I've just ordered a MacBook Pro 13" and am looking at what I use on my PC and hence what I need to find equivalents of.

I've done lots of digging but have 2 that I'm still left scratching...
