The original battery was replaced under warranty through my local Apple service center. I'm not really that ticked, just surprised really; I mostly use my laptop at my desk and it rarely ever leaves...

The version of Bootcamp that expired was the public beta. Leopard has the first final release of Bootcamp included so just wait until after you install Leopard to Bootcamp it.

If I remember correctly from when I had bootcamp on mine, it was a generic Marvell Yukon gigabit NIC driver which shouldn't be too hard to find

XP Professional is probably the best option if you want windows since the driver support is better and it isn't a resource hog by default. Vista, with lots of tweaking, can be made to run decently...

I had a similar error when I went to go bootcamp. You can't repair your disk if the computer is running OS X off of it; you have to boot from your OS X disk 1 and then run disk utility on it there....
