Thanks harryb2448 but I haven't got as much cash as I did 10 years ago! 2 kids yes. Cash no. A macpro would be lovely though.

I wasn't thinking of using the macmini as a backup! The other way around, the G4 as a backup.

So a mac pro is not the modern day equivalent of the G4 then? I love my mac (use a pc at work) but as you can tell I'm no expert on them!

The all in one imac looks amazing...

Problem solved. Thanks!

The mouse did need replacing and I now have 1gb so the g4 is working fine now.
