Depending on how old the 17" is, keep it, sell it, then buy the 15.4" unibody. That should put about $400 in your pocket ;)

The new "MacBook Pro" is nothing more than a 15" MacBook.
The new cinema display, and all the MacBooks don't offer a Matte option anymore.
The 17" MacBook Pro is being neglected.

I mean, the thing is much smaller than the Mac Pro, and it's still super fast.

Has anyone installed OS X non-server on an Xserve and used it like a desktop? You could put a cinema display on top...
